On Septemer 15, 1970 a shootout took place between New Orleans police and members of the National Committee to Combat Fascism which later became the Angola/ Louisiana Black Panther Party).

The Festival Will honor this event with films discussions and workshops.

Learn the Role the Black Panther Party played in the recovery of the Gulf Coast.

In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Common Ground Collective was founded.From September 2005 through December 2010, it provided relief services for over HALF A MILLION PEOPLE.

There would not have been a Common Ground without an
Angola 3 Support Commitee, and there would not have been a A3 Support Commitee
without a Black Panther Party.
